Index

This is the public part of Felix knowledge base. This is where I note knowledge worth keeping, written to be read by people and agents alike. Each page states one idea and links to the ones it rests on, so this is meant to be followed rather than searched.

Sections

Each section defines what it holds on its own page, and lists what is in it. They are ordered by how the ideas build rather than alphabetically, so reading top to bottom moves from what I care about to what I actually built.

  • People - who appears in these notes, and in what capacity
  • Values - what I care about, ahead of any particular project
  • Wishes - what I wanted from a specific thing, where a value is what I want generally
  • Principles - reusable technical claims, each one a thing I would want true in any repository I work in
  • Decisions - what I chose given those, and the reasoning that got me there
  • Explorations - what I committed to, built on, and then withdrew from, kept for what it taught
  • Blueprints - the concrete, copyable artefact a decision produced
  • Guides - a procedure I have carried out and would carry out again, with the steps that are silent when skipped marked as such
  • Knowledge management - how knowledge gets organised, independently of any tool that stores it
  • Investigations - longer reading, kept for the evidence rather than the conclusion it reached
  • Tools - an external tool or project that earns a page of its own
  • Hardware - a machine or peripheral in daily use, and how it presents itself to Linux
  • Findings - things that cost time once: the symptom, what it was, and how to get past it
